چکیده
A novel and highly stable inclusion complex was formed between per-butylated pillar[6]arene and a ferrocenium cation, while the reduced form ferrocene only showed extremely weak binding affinity with per-butylated pillar[6]arene in organic solvents.

The first synthesis of a monohydroxy pillar[5]arene has been carried out, by controlling the de-O-methylation of per-methylated pillar[5]arene. Using monohydroxy pillar[5]arene as an intermediate, mono-guest-functionalized pillar[5]arene was prepared. It formed a self-inclusion complex in CDCl(3) whereas in acetone-d(6) dethreading of the guest moiety took place.

A new water-soluble redox-active pillar[5]arene was synthesized by incorporation of one benzoquinone unit. The pillar[5]arene showed redox-responsive reversible lower critical solution temperature changes in aqueous solution.

Photo-responsive self-assembly in water based on the molecular recognition motif between a water-soluble pillar[6]arene host and an azobenzene-containing amphiphilic guest in water was investigated.
متن کاملpH-Responsive Host–Guest Complexation in Pillar[6]arene-Containing Polyelectrolyte Multilayer Films
A water-soluble, anionic pillar[6]arene derivative (WP6) is applied as monomeric building block for the layer-by-layer self-assembly of thin polyelectrolyte multilayer films, and its pH-dependent host–guest properties are employed for the reversible binding and release of a methylviologen guest molecule. The alternating assembly of anionic WP6 and cationic diazo resin (DAR) is monitored in-situ...
